‘Girl From The North Country’ – The West End and Broadway smash-hit returns to the UK as part of an international tour

The double Olivier Award-winning production of Girl From The North country, written and directed by esteemed playwright Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer) with music and lyrics by Bob Dylan, will be embarking on its first UK tour from June 2022.

Cities that will have the pleasure of hosting this production include Canterbury, Southhampton, York, Salford Quays, Newcastle, Bath, Nottingham, Cheltenham, Plymouth, Bradford, Cardiff and Sheffield. Further tour dates are yet to be announced.

Set in 1934, during the Great Depression, this is a story of family and love. A group of wayward souls find themselves crossing paths, hiding from their pasts and considering the unspoken truths of their future.

Girl From The North Country first opened at the Old Vic in July 2017, where it received huge critical acclaim and played to sold out audiences. Its second run in the West End opened at the Gielgud Theatre in December 2019. It has won the 2018 Olivier Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, as well as being nominated in the Best New Musical, Outstanding Achievement in Music and Best Actor in a Musical categories.
